The facts behind the numbers are alarming. More than 60 African elephants were killed every day in 2012 to meet the demand of the illegal ivory trade. In two years, 100,000 elephants were killed.

What is the cause of this phenomenon? It is ivory known as "platinum". One kilogram of ivory can be sold for $3,000 on the black market, and criminals are determined to profit from it. The Washington Post (The Washington Post) wrote why these magnificent highly intelligent animals are becoming more and more critical.

You can help in the following ways:

• Raise the awareness of your family and friends. Some people do not understand the terrible truth behind the illegal ivory trade. A protected animal of International Foundation survey conducted in China showed that 70% of people think that as ivory teeth and the general will naturally fall off.

• Please go to a participating city near you to participate in the Global Conservation Elephant Parade scheduled for October 4th.

• Please join Ivory Challenge (Ivory Challenge). Put forward your ideas on how to turn the crushed 6 tons of ivory collected by the US Fish and Wildlife Service into an educational tool to raise awareness of the illegal wildlife trade.

• Make sure not to buy or sell ivory products and encourage your colleagues and friends to join the ranks. You can also sign an online proposal.

• Understand the position of the government of your country on this issue. The US government considers this a threat to animal protection and global security, and has formulated a National Strategy for Combating Wildlife Trafficking.

• If your organization has established a wildlife conservation project, you can consider applying for funding from these animal protection foundations.
